COCKLE FISHERMEN ON THE WAD
On the Wadden Sea, part of the world heritage (UNESCO), a delicious shellfish lives, the cockle. To protect the mudflats, only a handful of cockle fishermen can fish for them by hand. 2.5% of the total cockle population can be fished per year, a strong storm alone can destroy more than 2.5% of the cockles on the mudflat. Hand-made and sustainable fishing in the middle of a magnificent landscape.
